Issues
Max wants to make District 13 the best
place to live and work in the State.
Having grown up in the District, he
knows the people. He listens. He responds. He is accessible
and accountable.
Max’s special interest in office
will be the people of District 13.
LOW TAXES, LESS SPENDING
As a conservative Republican and champion of limited government,
Max believes in low taxes and tax reform. Government spending
continues to soar. Excessive expenditures create an undue
burden on the taxpayer. Max will hold the line on taxes and
fight to reduce spending.
MORE AND BETTER JOBS
Max will work aggressively to create jobs and spur economic
development throughout District 13. Both large and small businesses
add to the overall quality of life in a community and keep
residential property taxes low.
NO LANDFILL
Max is opposed to yet another landfill site in Spartanburg
County. Our community should not become a “dumping ground”
for out-of-state waste. Max wants to preserve the quality
of life of our beautiful District and protect property values.
Let’s put District 13 on the
map for progress, not as a place to take waste!
MEANINGFUL ILLEGAL
IMMIGRATION REFORM
While the federal government recognizes that protecting our
borders is important, very little has been done to address
the growing problem. Max believes South Carolina must enact
strong legislation which will not only make employers accountable
for their hiring practices, but also will require immigrants
to verify their legal status before receiving any type of
government assistance.
FAMILY VALUES
As a father of two and as a Christian, Max is a strong supporter
of the rights of an unborn child and believes that the sanctity
of marriage is reserved for a man and a woman.
PAYDAY LENDING
While the business has been a strong economic development
and job creation force for our community, the payday lending
industry needs regulation.
IMPROVING EDUCATION
Max taught 8th and 9th grade before going to law school. He
knows the importance of a quality education. His wife, Eliza,
taught at Cleveland Elementary School and then for several
years at Pine Street Elementary School. Max is a product of
the public school system; he is a strong supporter of public
education.
He opposes consolidation and believes
in local control.
SAYING NO TO SPECIAL
INTERESTS
Max has pledged not to accept any contributions from political
action committees (PACs) or Special Interest Groups when legislation
impacting these industries is being debated before the General
Assembly.
The Special Interests have a grip on our elected officials.
Max’s special interest will be the people.
TORT REFORM
Tort reform is needed to stop frivolous lawsuits and exorbitant
monetary awards. Max pledges not to roll back existing tort
reform legislation.
REDUCING CRIME
South Carolina has the highest violent crime in the nation.
Max will work to reduce this statistic by fighting for harsher
sentences and tougher penalties in order to protect both the
citizens of District 13 and the State. In addition, Max favors
more severe DUI laws.
South Carolina can maximize its
potential if you will “MAXIMIZE YOUR VOTE” and
vote for Max Hyde on June 10th.
